Small-scale Fisheries stakeholders can use scenarios as a tool to simulate predicted trends associated with foreseen management decisions and policies, from local to regional to pan-European. CABFISHMAN’s Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCM) are designed to support this type of scenario-based decision making by considering a set of different variables (social, economic, environmental) simultaneously in order to better characterise SSF activity, and develop a more comprehensive picture than is possible when using these variables in isolation.
